Today we’ve got an awesome new collaboration, some updates on the Vile Rattus, a new free 3D print model, and the release of a starter set for Age of Fantasy.
Collaboration with Manuel Boria
This month we’ve got a special treat for you in terms of 3D models, as we’ve partnered up with the amazing Manuel Boria, who makes awesome models for wargames and RPGs. His models are available on Patreon, MyMiniFactory and Thingiverse, and they are an absolute treat! :D
If you’ve never heard of him and are interested in fantasy miniatures, then you should definitely check his stuff out. Not only does he make really epic heroes and warriors, but also really adorable monster cubs.
Note that this model is going to be available on the OPR Patreon until the 30th of August, after which it will only be available on Manuel Boria’s Patreon.
To give you an example of how easily his models can be used to play our games, here are some Quickplay Armies for AoF: Skirmish using Gnolls (Beastmen) vs Kobolds (Halflings).
The models can of course be used for any other games, for example WarStuff, or even Deathball with just a few sports-related modifications. The sky is the limit with these amazing models! :D
Vile Rattus Cult
If you missed the Kickstarter Campaign for the Vile Rattus Cult fret not, because That EvilOne has now put up all of these rat-tastic models up for sale on CGTrader, which you can check out by clicking HERE.
Free Fanatic Sisters Model
This week we released yet another free model on Thingiverse, this time a battle-ready Fanatic Sister.
If you want to help us out please make sure to give the model a like, thanks! :)
Island of Doom – AoF Starter Set
Since the release of the Battle for Magellan-2 Starter Set players have been asking us to make similar starter sets for our other games, and this week we’re happy to release the Island of Doom starter set.
This starter set contains the core rules, 12 unit stat cards, two complete paper armies with 43 miniatures, 11 flat terrain pieces and a set of 106 play tokens, making for an awesome starter package.
If you’re interested you can get this starter set for just $4.99 by clicking HERE.
These starter sets don’t have multiple army colors or terrain seasons like you get on Patreon, so the best deal is still to subscribe there, but they should hopefully give more players a new way to find and try out our games. :)
That’s it for today, make sure to tune in next week for some game updates and more releases.
Today we’ve got so much new stuff for you that we don’t even know where to begin!
In today’s update you’ll find news about the release of a new narrative campaign, a huge balance update that’s affecting most armies, more updates on specific armies, new 2D and 3D models, and much much more.
Over this past week we’ve also been running a community campaign, but honestly with so much stuff in today’s update we don’t think it’s the right time to share the results yet, as they deserve a biggest spotlight. Because of this you can expect the results next week.
Anyway, let’s get the show on the road!
Jakob’s Path: Chapter 1
Something that players have been asking us for a long time is to provide more narrative for our games, involving epic stories of battles and heroes across the worlds we’ve built.
Well, the time has finally come, and this week we’re super happy to release the first chapter of our first Grimdark Future narrative campaign: Jakob’s Path.
Jakob’s Path is a narrative campaign for Grimdark Future, which is being released in 5 chapters. Each chapter continues the story and features 2 new missions for you to play. Whilst the campaign was written with Battle Brothers vs Orc Marauders in mind, it can be played with any other factions and whatever models you have.
Chapter 1 begins the adventure with Jakob and his Battle Brothers landing on the mysterious planet of Zeloria-M5, looking to neutralize any Orc Marauders that inhabit it. Little did they know that they would find much more than just some pesky greenskins on the planet…
Note that you must be a Tier 2 patron to access to the link above.
This campaign is going to be available exclusively on Patreon until all 5 chapters have been released, after which it will go up for sale on our WargameVault Store at a higher price.
The story was written by Gabriela Rebelo who took part in the writer’s submission challenge, and you can expect more narrative campaigns in the future written by other people that submitted their stories!
Battle Sisters Army Pack
For our line of 2D print models this week we’ve release the Battle Sisters army pack.
Battle Sisters are all-female splinter factions of the Battle Brothers, which follow the lead of their own god-queen. They are equipped with custom heavy battle armor and wield powerful flame weapons to purge the galaxy.
To help you get into the game ASAP, here is a Quickplay Army you can use with these models:
1x High Sister w/ Pistol & Energy Sword
10x Battle Sisters w/ 1x Heavy Flamethrower
10x Battle Sisters w/ 1x Fusion Rifle
10x Fanatic Sisters
2D Print Tutorials
Speaking of 2D miniatures, we’ve decided to add a little tutorial page at the end of all of our 2D print files, showing you 2 different methods you can use to assemble your armies. Hopefully this will help new player to understand how to use them easily, and experiment with different methods to find what works best for them.
Beastmen Assassin by Ilhadiel
Moving on to 3D printing, this month we got the last model made in collaboration with the amazing Ilhadiel, and you should definitely check out his Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/ilhadiel
Beastmen Assassins protect their herds by killing those that threaten their lands. They work silently and without thanks, bloodying their hands to save their kind.
This month it’s really great to be subscribed to our Patreon, and here’s a highlight of everything you get if you support the project before the 30th of July:
Early Access: Faster Than Light
GF – Jakob’s Path: Chapter 1
2D Battle Sisters (2 Colors & PSD)
3D Biker Sisters
3D Biker Fanatics
3D Dwarf Power Suits
3D Beastmen Assassin
This of course is on top of all the usual stuff (5 rulebooks, point calculators, etc.), so you’re getting a huge amount of value for as little as $5. We really don’t know of any better deal out there!
Quick Highlights
Ok so this update has already been pretty long but we’re not even halfway through, so for the next 4 things we’re just going to do quick highlights to get you up to speed.
As previously announced we are going to close down the current Discourse forum and switch back to a Proboards forum at the end of the month, so if you’ve got anything to save then do it now: http://forum.onepagerules.com/
The old forum has already been re-opened, and we’ll switch the URL when the switch has been completed, but if you want to already register now you can do it: https://onepagerules.proboards.com/
Balance Updates
Finally let’s move onto the game updates.
As some of you may have already noticed, some of the more elite armies and vehicles in the game can be very pricey, almost to the point of making them underpowered. This stems from the fact that until not a 2+ defense value has been very expensive, which was tipping the balance a little too much in favor of cheaper armies.
So, in a stroke of absolute madness we decided to re-balance the cost of 2+ during the last week, which meant that we’ve had to update almost every army book in the game. Luckily enough we had some volunteers to help out, but it was still a ton of work.
You can expect most vehicles to be cheaper, as well as all of the elite armies to be cheaper, which will hopefully shift the balance of the game enough to make them a bit more viable against horde armies, especially in skirmish.
This update is coming for all games, so you can also expect monsters and chariots to be cheaper in fantasy, as well as some of the other more resilient units out there.
Prime Brothers + Robot Legions Updates
With a new boxed set hitting the street we went ahead and added a couple of new units to the Prime Brothers and the Robot Legions, as well as doing some more changes.
Prime Brothers now all have the Firstborn special rule, which gives them Regeneration against non-spell attacks, making them a bit tougher to crack. Then we added 1 new hero and 4 new units, as well as giving all heroes the ability to take combat shields.
Robot Legions also got a bunch of new stuff, with 2 new heroes and 2 new units, as well as some new equipment for Overseers, Technomancers and Warriors. It’s a good day to be a robot.
We’ve also come up with some Quickplay Armies for you to get into the game if you got the boxed set.
Prime Brothers
1x Captain w/ Pistol, Energy Sword, Combat Shield & War Chant
1x Ancient w/ Pistol, Energy Sword, Combat Shield & Ancient Banner
1x Judge
3x Guard Squad

Today we’re super excited to share with you news of an awesome upcoming Kickstarter campaign, as well as some other small updates regarding new releases and our forum.
Cult of Vile Rattus Kickstarter
Over the past couple of months ThatEvilOne has provided OPR with some awesomeratmenminiatures, and if you thought the rat madness was over, then you were very very wrong!
ThatEvilOne is launching a Kickstarter campaign this Sunday (12th of July)at 12PM (PST), which will be filled with a ton of amazing sci-fi ratmen models for you to 3D print at home.
The campaign will feature 80+ infantry and vehicle models, and we hear that there’s a ton of stretch goals as well to provide you with even more rat goodness. ;)
As a thank you for collaborating with us we’ve created a dedicated Vile Rattus Cult army list for Grimdark Future and Grimdark Future: Firefight, and on top of that anyone that backs the Kickstarter will also get a free copy of the Full Rulebooks for both games as well.
This is going to be an amazing Kickstarter campaign, and we can’t wait to see everything that ThatEvilOne has in store for the backers, but in the meantime enjoy the previews below. :D
Biker Fanatics Released
In other 3D print related news, this week we released our second set of bikers this month, this time with the fanatic sisters and their deadly heavy chainsaw swords.
Note that you must be a Tier 3 patron to access to the link above.
These models are going to be available exclusively on Patreon until the 30th of July, after which they will go up for sale on our CGTrader store at a higher price.
Free Dwarf Rifleman Released
Finally for our last 3D print news this week, we’ve released a free Dwarf Rifleman model on our Thingiverse page, so that you can do a test print before getting the full pack on CGTrader.
If you’d like to help us make sure to follow us on Thingiverse and give the model a like, thanks!
Age of Fantasy Full Rulebook on WargameVault
As we announced last week we’re now providing our Full Rulebooks for sale on WargameVault for those that don’t have access to Patreon. It’s still much cheaper to get the model via Patreon, but if you really have no other option, then at least now you have a way to get the Age of Fantasy rulebook. :)
Around 3 months ago we switched our forum hosting from Proboards to Discourse, because on Proboards we had to manually provide patrons with additional forum access, which was becoming impossible as the number of supporters increased. Discourse being the only forum with a Patreon integration seemed like a dream, as it would allow us to automate the whole process, so we made the switch.
Looking at how things turned out, it’s clear to us that switching to Discourse was a mistake.
Whilst it’s true that it allowed for some automation, it also came with a number of other problems (from a bad interface to not sending out confirmation e-mails), which have lead to a decrease in forum members and forum usage. We tried getting some help from the Discourse developers, but they demand $100/month to give us support, and honestly we believe that money is better spent elsewhere (like art, miniatures, etc.).
So, what does this all mean?
Basically, we’re going to be shutting down the current Discourse forum at the end of the month, and switch back to Proboards. This means everyone’s old accounts, threads and posts will be restored, and hopefully we can go back to having a healthy forum again.
Switching back to Proboards means that we won’t have the Patreon integration anymore, and so it means that we will not have a patrons-only forum section anymore. Seeing how we haven’t had an active thread on there in a month, we hope this won’t be too big of a loss, and any patrons-only content can still be shared via our Discord server.
That’s it, we hope this helps shed some light on why we’re doing this. :)
That’s it for today, make sure to set a reminder for the Cult of Vile Rattus Kickstarter campaign. :D
Today we’ve got some cool announcements regarding 3D models, a couple of new units for Grimdark Future, as well as some smaller general updates.
Free 3D Models on Thingiverse
After much deliberation we’ve finally settled on Thingiverse as our go-to platform to provide everyone with free samples of our models, and you can find our page here: https://www.thingiverse.com/onepagerules/about
This is something that we’ve been mulling over for a while, because we want to provide free models so that people can do test prints before buying, but don’t want it to hurt our sales.
What we’ve come up with is a simple solution: every couple of weeks we’ll be releasing a single model from one of our unit sets, which should give you a nice preview of what you can get with the full set.
If you want to help out please make sure to follow the page and give the model a like, and we’ll be posting more news soon on the next free models you can get! :D
Beastmen Shaman by Ilhadiel
Continuing our collaboration with Ilhadiel, this month he made an awesome looking Beastmen Shaman for us, so make sure to check out the Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/ilhadiel
“Beastmen Shamans are attuned with nature and master spell casting with ease. They use this power to channel wild fury into their allies and to inspire animals to join them in battle.”
Note that you must be a Tier 3 patron to access to the link above.
This model is going to be available exclusively on Patreon until the 29th of June, after which it will go up for sale on our CGTrader store at a higher price.
New Grimdark Future Units
On the game side of things we’ve got some new units for the Machine Cult as well as the Battle Sisters, just because those armies can’t ever get awesome enough. :D
Machine Cult
Added new units: Raider Cavalry, Sky Stalkers, Arch Gunship
Heroes have 2 new ranged weapon upgrades
Battle Sisters
Added new unit: Fanatic Bikers
Fanatic Sisters lost the Fast rule but gained Defense 5+
Small Updates
Finally we’ve got two small updates, one for AoF: Regiments and one for heroes with ambushing special rules in multiple GF: Firefight and AoF:Skirmish armies.
AoF: Regiments
Added a note in the Basic/Full Rulebooks on how to determine which facing to charge
GF: Firefight & AoF: Skirmish
Updated all army special rules that give half the units Ambush to require them to deploy near each other
That’s it for today, please make sure to check out our Thingiverse page and give us a like, and we’ll make sure to keep bringing you awesome free models. :)
In today’s update we have a new rulebook, some important changes, and a new 3D model collaboration, but let’s not waste too much time and get right into it.
Age of Fantasy: Regiments
Today we’re very excited to release the Full Rulebook for Age of Fantasy: Regiments!
This has been a LONG time coming, but now we finally have Full Rulebooks available for all of our games, as well as Beginner’s Guides to get people started. We’ve also updated some other important stuff as part of this release, so make sure to keep reading to find out what has changed. :)
Before we get into the contents we’d like to present you the new cover art for the game, another gorgeous piece by the mighty Brandon Gillam.
This new rulebook starts out with a thorough explanation of all the core rules of the game, with lots of diagrams and examples to make things as clear as possible.
We’ve found that new players that never played rank & file games before were struggling with some of the basic concepts of the game, and with this section it should be much easier for them to get into the game.
It’s only after that however that you get to the real meat of the rulebook!
The advanced rules section contains a ton of new ways for you to customize your game, such as new deployment zone types, new mission objectives, new actions, and a lot more.
These rules are modular so that you can mix and match however you like, allowing you to create tailor-made slaughter so you and your friends to revel in.
Then there is the total conversions section, which alter the core rules in such a way to provide you with completely new game mechanics, each with their own tactical challenges and strategies.
There are total conversions for things such as fog of war, fatigue and command points, each adding a new layer of the game, allowing you to experience the game like you never have before.
The newest addition to the game are Phased Battles, which change the way that alternating activations work, giving you more structure regimental battles, and allowing you to play massive game with ease.
Here is a full list of all the advanced rules and total conversions:
Terrain Placement Rules
Multiple Deployment Styles
Extra Missions
Side-Missions
Extra Actions
Solid Buildings
Random Events
Battlefield Conditions
Terrain & Objective Effects
Fog of War Rules
Brutal Damage Rules
Command Points Rules
Fatigue Rules
Rules for Phased Battles
Rules for Multiplayer Games
Rules for Small-Scales & Multi-Basing
Oh, and did we mention that you can use the small-scales and multi-basing rules to play with your old Warmaster models, or to use your unit trays from Kings of War? :D
I think enough has been said, go get the rulebook by clicking HERE.
Note that when getting the rulebook for the low price of just $3 you’ll also get access to the other Patreon rewards, so that’s an additional 4 rulebooks for our other games, as well as this month’s 2D paper models.
Game Updates
As we mentioned earlier there’s some important updates that are coming along with this release, and whilst none of them are major, they’re all serving as small contributions in improving our games.
Starting off with our Age of Fantasy games, we’ve re-worked the way Command Groups work, and now you can buy individual Sergeants, Musicians and Battle Standards for your units, including in AoF: Skirmish.
Then for AoF: Regiments we’ve made a small update in the core rules, allowing Wavering units to do a single 90° pivot when they’re activated, but otherwise remaining idle. This should give units a small chance to fight back and recover, instead of keeping them stuck in a loop of Wavering results.
Speaking more generally we’ve also gone ahead and updated all of the army lists for GFF and AoFS, consolidating upgrade lists to remove awkward situations with multiple instances of the same upgrade for units.
Finally the biggest change comes to the way spell casting works, and this is both for the Grimdark Future games as well as the Age of Fantasy games. This update comes in two parts: line of sight changes and spell lists changes.
In the newest release of the game casting and blocking spells now requires line of sight. This not only feels more natural on the tabletop, but should also stop spell casters from hiding safely behind a mountain all game whilst wreaking havoc on enemy forces.
Then we’ve also gone back and re-worked all spell lists for all armies, lowering the power of attack spells as well as re-balancing them to make them a little more useful for each individual army. With this newest release you can’t spend the whole match just spamming attack spells, incentivising players to use effect spells more.
With all of these changes we’ve updated pretty much every single army in the game, so whatever files you have are now outdated, and you should make sure to get the latest release. :)
New 3D Print Collaboration with Ilhadiel
This month we’re starting a collaboration with Ilhadiel, who makes awesome 3D print models for fantasy on his Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ilhadiel
He has tons of fantasy models available, but what caught our eyes the most is his line of Foxmen, which are perfect to use as Beastmen in Age of Fantasy. To help him spread the word about his miniatures we’re going to be releasing 3 of his models in the coming months, starting with a Beastmen Champion!
Beastmen Champions are unstoppable forces of destruction on the battlefield, slaughtering their enemies with wild strength. This model comes with a massive broadsword that can chop through even the toughest foes.
Note that you must be a Tier 3 patron to access to the link above.
This model is going to be available exclusively on Patreon until the 30th of May, after which it will go up for sale on our CGTrader store at a higher price.
That’s it for today! With the release of AoFR we’ve finished releasing full rulebooks for our main line of games for now, so what might be coming next? Who knows…
Yes, you read that right, today we’re releasing two brand new rulebooks, as well as a shiny new 3D print model, so there’s lots of cool stuff for you! :D
Firefight & Skirmish Rulebooks
It’s with great pleasure that today we’re finally releasing the full rulebooks for both Grimdark Future: Firefight and Age of Fantasy: Skirmish!
Before we get into the contents we’d like to present you the new cover art for these rulebooks, another stunning work by the wonderful Brandon Gillam.
So, what will you find in these new rulebooks?
The first section of the books cover all of the core rules of the game, so everything you know and love like moving, shooting, melee, etc.
Here you’ll find a ton of diagrams and examples to make it easier to understand the games, and we’re making this section available for free as a beginner’s guide.
But after that… ooh boy do we got a ton of cool stuff for you!
The next section of the rulebook contains advanced rules that add a ton of new content for your regular games, from different deployment styles, to new missions and actions.
All of the advanced rules are completely optional, so you can mix and match what you want, for example using only the extra actions that you like or that fit your playstlye.
Finally the total conversion section provides you with bigger rules changes that can fundamentally alter the way you play, giving you a completely new experience.
Here you’ll find things such as a new tactical phase that’s played before the battle begins, or in-depth city fighting rules that simulate different aspects of urban warfare.
Due to popular demand we’ve also added a whole section on how to play games in smaller spaces, so that you can easily play skirmish anywhere.
Here is a full list of all the advanced rules and total conversions:
Terrain Placement Rules
Multiple Deployment Styles
Extra Missions
Side-Missions
Extra Actions
Random Events
Battlefield Conditions
Terrain & Objective Effects
Fog of War Rules
Tactical Phase Rules
Command Points Rules
Suppression Rules
City Fighting Rules
Rules for Multiplayer Games
Rules for Kitchen Table Games
Oh, and did we mention that you can get these 2 rulebooks, plus the other 2 rulebooks, as well as lots of other rewards for the low price of just $3?!
So, what are you waiting for? Get them by clicking HERE.
We hope you all enjoy these new rulebooks and can’t wait to hear your comments and feedback on the new cover art, advanced rules and total conversions!

Oh yeah baby, we’re finally releasing official mission cards!

The dynamic mission cards can be found on the various game pages and are available for all games, so make sure to give them a try next time you play!

Some players suggested that we create a Facebook group because they like how easy it is to share pictures and ideas on there, so of course we created one. :D

In today’s update we have a great opportunity for those of you that like to write epic stories, a new collaboration for 3D print models, a cool Grimdark Future battle report and finally an update for the forum!
Open Call for Writers
One of the questions we asked during our last Community Survey was if people would be interested in narrative campaigns for our games, which was answered with a very decisive YES from the fans.
Well, if we want to make narrative campaigns, then we’re going to need someone to write all of the cool stories that go into that, recounting heroic deeds and epic battles to the last man.
As you can tell from the little background story blurbs at the beginning of the army lists, we’re not really the best at writing this kind of stuff…
In order to help us get some actual quality stories out there we’re currently looking for writers that would like to work with us, and anyone can apply.
To apply simply send an e-mail with a 150-300 words story set in the Grimdark Future or Age of Fantasy universes to: onepageanon@gmail.com
Make sure to put OPR WRITER at the beginning of the e-mail’s title so that our filter can pick it up, and we’re going to accept applications until the 26th of February.
Anything goes really, so you can send us short stories, battle descriptions, army backgrounds, or whatever else you think can best show off your writing skills.
If you are selected we will contact you for future projects, and here is the deal we are going to offer you for any collaboration:
We are going to pay for any content that is going to be distributed commercially, such as Patreon-exclusive content or paid Rulebooks.
Any content that is going to be distributed for free is on a voluntary basis, such as community campaigns or similar open content.
This is the first time we’re organizing something like this so things could always change as we move along, but anything we do will always be communicated very clearly.
That’s it, go ahead and send your stories now, we’re looking forward to reading them!
New Collaboration
Today we’re also really happy to announce that we’ll be collaborating with Kyoushuneko Miniatures to release 3D print fantasy miniatures for Age of Fantasy!
They make really stunning looking fantasy miniatures, which are released via their own Patreon, and they’ve agreed to collaborate with us to provide miniatures specifically designed for our games.
The way this is going to work is that they provide us with special miniatures, which are going to be exclusive to our patrons in early access for one month, and after that will be made available for free on CGTrader.
So yeah, more models for you every month, sounds pretty great. :D
Grimdark Future Battle Report
The fine folks at Atelier d’un Wargamerhave posted up a new Grimdark Future battle report, with a 1450pts slaughter of Prime Brothers vs TAO Coalition.
This battle report is in French, but you can use the auto-translate feature on YouTube to get a semi-reliable translation… and also it’s always fun to just watch things die!
Here you will find cool new takes on our existing games, or even total conversions of the one-offs, such as the bombastic WarMechs conversion of WarFleets.
Make sure to check it out and post your own crazy ideas. :)
That’s it for today. We’re looking forward to reading all of your story submissions, and we’re going to be releasing some more awesome content next week so get ready!
