Warfleets: FTL Updates
FTL has been out for a few months now, and after a lot of exciting matches, playtesting and community feedback, we’ve now ready to release our first big patch for the game.
This update serves to address lots of balance issues across the board, making shooting overall a bit more reliable, and nerfing ramming to be less deadly. Overall we think this is a step in the right direction balance wise, but we’d like to remind everyone that the game is still in Early Access, so there may be bigger changes in the future.
Core Rules
Lowered number of objectives to D3+1
Lowered the Eva and Def value of all units by 1
Re-worked ramming to deal max. 2 damage
Blast range increased to 4″
Tsunami Cannon now has Ran 12″ and Acc 2, and may only be taken once per fleet
Re-named weapon upgrades with “Turret” in them to avoid confusion

Dark Elves vs Lust Daemons Quickplay
Quickplay Armies are pre-made army lists designed to be ready to play out of the box, without the need to count point costs or create your own lists. They are the perfect thing to dip your toes into new armies and see if you like them!
With a new big box of fantasy models on the horizon, we thought it would be cool to create some quickplay armies for you to get your new models into the game ASAP. This set features the vicious Dark Elves vs the twisted Lust Daemons. Note that as part of this set we’ve updated the Dark Elves army to v2.6.
Dark Elves
1x Snake Lady
5x Snake Sisters
5x Snake Sisters w/ Shard Halberds
5x Winged Sisters w/ Javelins
Lust Daemons
1x Champion of Lust w/ Ritual Hammer
10x Lust Warriors
10x Lust Beast Riders
1x Razor-Flail Chariot
The Dark Elves in this set focus on bringing a lot of Snake Sisters supported by Winged Sisters and a hero. The list comes with solid ranged and melee options across the board, as well as a powerful Snake Lady which dashes out lots of AP(4) attacks.
The Lust Daemons on the other side focus on high speed, with both Lust Beast Riders and a Razor-Flail Chaiot. The list is great at strategic assaults to take out the enemy on the charge, and also comes with a solid core of Lust Warriors and a Champion of Lust to hold the line.
Collaboration with CobraMode
This month our friends at CobraMode were so kind to provide all of our Tier 2 patrons with some extra models as a free gift, with the Mazigh Raider and Hanzaki Ninja.
CobraMode is a small team that provides super stylish tabletop miniatures for wargames and RPG’s set in their own fantasy universe. They have a Patreon where they release new models every month, and patrons also get a 50% discount code to their MMF Store.
If that wasn’t enough, they also provide free 5e stats for each miniature, as well as a welcome pack, throwback minis, custom bases and more!
To help you get started with their awesome models, here’s a ~300pts quickplay list you can use to play with their Mikata Wetlands models in Age of Fantasy: Skirmish.
Last week we released a free Assault Grunt on our Thingiverse page, so this week it’s time to release a beautiful fantasy model from our new line of miniatures.
Last but not least, Sad and Lonely Gamer has posted up a new Grimdark Future battle report, this time with two fully AI controlled armies facing off against each other. Definitely a very interesting match to check out!
That’s it for now, keep your eyes peeled for a new update later today in which we reveal the game jam theme with lots of details!
Today we’ve got so much new stuff for you that we don’t even know where to begin!
In today’s update you’ll find news about the release of a new narrative campaign, a huge balance update that’s affecting most armies, more updates on specific armies, new 2D and 3D models, and much much more.
Over this past week we’ve also been running a community campaign, but honestly with so much stuff in today’s update we don’t think it’s the right time to share the results yet, as they deserve a biggest spotlight. Because of this you can expect the results next week.
Anyway, let’s get the show on the road!
Jakob’s Path: Chapter 1
Something that players have been asking us for a long time is to provide more narrative for our games, involving epic stories of battles and heroes across the worlds we’ve built.
Well, the time has finally come, and this week we’re super happy to release the first chapter of our first Grimdark Future narrative campaign: Jakob’s Path.
Jakob’s Path is a narrative campaign for Grimdark Future, which is being released in 5 chapters. Each chapter continues the story and features 2 new missions for you to play. Whilst the campaign was written with Battle Brothers vs Orc Marauders in mind, it can be played with any other factions and whatever models you have.
Chapter 1 begins the adventure with Jakob and his Battle Brothers landing on the mysterious planet of Zeloria-M5, looking to neutralize any Orc Marauders that inhabit it. Little did they know that they would find much more than just some pesky greenskins on the planet…
Note that you must be a Tier 2 patron to access to the link above.
This campaign is going to be available exclusively on Patreon until all 5 chapters have been released, after which it will go up for sale on our WargameVault Store at a higher price.
The story was written by Gabriela Rebelo who took part in the writer’s submission challenge, and you can expect more narrative campaigns in the future written by other people that submitted their stories!
Battle Sisters Army Pack
For our line of 2D print models this week we’ve release the Battle Sisters army pack.
Battle Sisters are all-female splinter factions of the Battle Brothers, which follow the lead of their own god-queen. They are equipped with custom heavy battle armor and wield powerful flame weapons to purge the galaxy.
To help you get into the game ASAP, here is a Quickplay Army you can use with these models:
1x High Sister w/ Pistol & Energy Sword
10x Battle Sisters w/ 1x Heavy Flamethrower
10x Battle Sisters w/ 1x Fusion Rifle
10x Fanatic Sisters
2D Print Tutorials
Speaking of 2D miniatures, we’ve decided to add a little tutorial page at the end of all of our 2D print files, showing you 2 different methods you can use to assemble your armies. Hopefully this will help new player to understand how to use them easily, and experiment with different methods to find what works best for them.
Beastmen Assassin by Ilhadiel
Moving on to 3D printing, this month we got the last model made in collaboration with the amazing Ilhadiel, and you should definitely check out his Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/ilhadiel
Beastmen Assassins protect their herds by killing those that threaten their lands. They work silently and without thanks, bloodying their hands to save their kind.
This month it’s really great to be subscribed to our Patreon, and here’s a highlight of everything you get if you support the project before the 30th of July:
Early Access: Faster Than Light
GF – Jakob’s Path: Chapter 1
2D Battle Sisters (2 Colors & PSD)
3D Biker Sisters
3D Biker Fanatics
3D Dwarf Power Suits
3D Beastmen Assassin
This of course is on top of all the usual stuff (5 rulebooks, point calculators, etc.), so you’re getting a huge amount of value for as little as $5. We really don’t know of any better deal out there!
Quick Highlights
Ok so this update has already been pretty long but we’re not even halfway through, so for the next 4 things we’re just going to do quick highlights to get you up to speed.
As previously announced we are going to close down the current Discourse forum and switch back to a Proboards forum at the end of the month, so if you’ve got anything to save then do it now: http://forum.onepagerules.com/
The old forum has already been re-opened, and we’ll switch the URL when the switch has been completed, but if you want to already register now you can do it: https://onepagerules.proboards.com/
Balance Updates
Finally let’s move onto the game updates.
As some of you may have already noticed, some of the more elite armies and vehicles in the game can be very pricey, almost to the point of making them underpowered. This stems from the fact that until not a 2+ defense value has been very expensive, which was tipping the balance a little too much in favor of cheaper armies.
So, in a stroke of absolute madness we decided to re-balance the cost of 2+ during the last week, which meant that we’ve had to update almost every army book in the game. Luckily enough we had some volunteers to help out, but it was still a ton of work.
You can expect most vehicles to be cheaper, as well as all of the elite armies to be cheaper, which will hopefully shift the balance of the game enough to make them a bit more viable against horde armies, especially in skirmish.
This update is coming for all games, so you can also expect monsters and chariots to be cheaper in fantasy, as well as some of the other more resilient units out there.
Prime Brothers + Robot Legions Updates
With a new boxed set hitting the street we went ahead and added a couple of new units to the Prime Brothers and the Robot Legions, as well as doing some more changes.
Prime Brothers now all have the Firstborn special rule, which gives them Regeneration against non-spell attacks, making them a bit tougher to crack. Then we added 1 new hero and 4 new units, as well as giving all heroes the ability to take combat shields.
Robot Legions also got a bunch of new stuff, with 2 new heroes and 2 new units, as well as some new equipment for Overseers, Technomancers and Warriors. It’s a good day to be a robot.
We’ve also come up with some Quickplay Armies for you to get into the game if you got the boxed set.
Prime Brothers
1x Captain w/ Pistol, Energy Sword, Combat Shield & War Chant
1x Ancient w/ Pistol, Energy Sword, Combat Shield & Ancient Banner
1x Judge

Today we’re going to be highlighting a couple of cool games from the game jam, and we’ve also got some new 3D print and 2D paper models for you. Oh, and a little teaser at the end…
Game Jam Results
This year’s game jam was a great success, with 65 participants creating 23 awesome games, we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out (especially for a first try)!
Now that everyone has had a chance to check out and rate the various games, we wanted to highlight a couple of them that we found particularly interesting. These are not the “best” games or the “winners” of the jam, but simply some of the games that sparked our imagination.
The Night of the Hunt is really interesting because it takes the concept of asymmetric design and really runs with it, whilst also remaining enough in familiar territory that it’s really intuitive to play. Since this was the top rated game of the jam we’ll be diving deep into what makes it so awesome. :D
One player takes the role of the monster, a single powerful entity set out to cause mayhem in town, whilst the other player controls a group of hunters that want to rid the world of this evil.
There are lots of cool features in this game, such as the varied objectives available and the high level of customization for both the monster and the hunters, but the most interesting feature is how different the monster plays from the hunters.
This is because whilst the monster is alone, it starts out with a lot of information that the hunters don’t have, making for a tense game of cat and mouse. The monster starts out in a hidden state, with no model on the board, and controls its movement and actions by noting them secretly on a piece of paper. In the meantime the hunters are going around trying to find him before he completes his secret objective.
It’s this disparity of information that leads to some really interesting situations, with the monster hiding in the shadows and then jumping out to devour a hunter before hiding again. Really exciting stuff!
We can imagine it being very interesting to try out the game with multiple players each controlling a hunter, or even adding in a second monster for more mayhem.
Mechanichrome also executes beautifully on the concept of asymmetric design, but takes it in a very different direction, with one player taking control of a band of explorers, whilst the other player acts almost as a GM, preparing the ruins with traps and using the guards that protect the data treasure.
What makes this game really interesting is that almost everything is controlled via a deck of cards, from exploring new parts of the ruins to attacking or grabbing treasure, and the interactions between the cards can add really interesting twists to how the game plays out.
Add a high level of customization of explorer stats as well as lots of different guard types and other threats, and you’ve got yourself an exciting game of exploration and high stakes combat.
Super Ranger Squadron immediately caught our eye thanks to its colorful sentai setting, but actually ended up having us hooked to its suit-based card mechanics. The game has interesting asymmetric design with one player controlling 5 customizable rangers, whilst the other player controls endless waves of bad guys.
The rangers have special powers that are only activated when a specific suit is drawn, and their goal is to remove specific cards from their deck, lowing their overall strength but bringing them closer to their objective. The bad guy on the other hand has a random objective that he has to complete, whilst trying to stall the rangers long enough so that they can’t assemble all aces and joker.
This game is really interesting because everything is controlled via a deck of cards, and it also has lots of fun mechanics on top of that, such as the bad guys picking up rangers and running off with them. :D
Finally we’ve got to mention Vostok, which even though didn’t really follow the asymmetric design theme was far to interesting for us to pass by in this highlight section.
Vostok is a solo survival game set in a post-apocalyptic frozen wasteland. Players start off by creating a custom tribe and then set out to explore the wasteland during the day, and then do upkeep at night.
The game uses a really interesting 2D6 system for all of its actions, with the wasteland “reacting” based on the rolls, which makes for very tense exploration where every roll could bring out new dangers. Then during the night your tribe members advance their abilities, and they can even conceive children which grow up and can go out on missions as well once they’ve become adults.
This game is filled with interesting ideas, and we highly encourage the creator to keep working on it, because this could become something epic (feel free to drop us an e-mail if you need any advice).
Ratmen Shamans are powerful sorcerers, able to cast ancient spells that spread disease among their foes, or pulverize them with crackling lightning bolts.
Note that you must be a Tier 3 patron to access to the link above.
This model is going to be available exclusively on Patreon until the 30th of May, after which it will go up for sale on our CGTrader store at a higher price.
Alien Hives Models Released
Throughout the galaxy vast armies of Alien Hives seek to devour everything in their path, posing a serious threat to all species (which just look like tasty meals to them).
These models are going to be available exclusively on Patreon until the 30th of May, after which it will go up for sale on our WargameVault Store at a higher price.
To get you started immediately here’s a ~750pts list you can use to play with these models:

10x Grunts
10x Assault Grunts
5x Soul-Snatchers

Teaser
Do we really need to say more?
That’s it for today, tune in next week for something really cool! :D
Today we’ve got a TON of new one-page games for you to try, some awesome new 3D print models, an update for the Deep-Sea Elves and some new Quickplay Armies.
Play & Rate 23 New Games
Last weekend we ran the very first OPR Game Jam, which was a ton of fun and resulted in the creation of 23 awesome new games!
The theme for the jam was “Asymmetric Design”, which sparked a lot of cool and unexpected ideas, making for some truly unique games, so make sure to take a look at all of them (which should be pretty quick as they’re all one-page games).
Now that the jam is over we need everyone to check out the games and rate them, which is completely anonymous and open to the public, so even if you didn’t take part in the game jam you can still give your opinion.
The criteria for ratings are “Design”, “Originality” and “Adherence to the Theme”, and whilst there is no winner or prize, we’ll make sure to highlight some of the most interesting games in next week’s news post.
We’d like to thank everyone that participated in the jam, and we’re looking forward to hosting a new one next year to see what crazy new games you come up with. :D
Note: If you want to help out games that didn’t get a lot of ratings yet you can filter by “least rated” or click on “submissions in need of ratings”.
Dwarves are master craftsmen that are able to build the most intricate of gunpowder weapons. These weapons are so powerful that only Dwarf Riflemen are able to wield them.
These models are going to be available exclusively on Patreon until the 30th of May, after which they will go up for sale on our CGTrader store at a higher price.

Deep-Sea Elves Update
Thanks to a suggestion from our always helpful community we have updated the Deep-Sea Elves army with a lot of new units, bolstering their battle lines. Until now their army list was quite small, but with today’s update you can now field 10 new units!
These units were inspired by the Trident Realms of Neritica by Mantic Games, which feature a lot of awesome water and sea themed models. So if you’re coming over from Kings of War or are looking to grab a couple of new models, then this update is for you.
Wolf Brothers vs Orc Marauders – Quickplay Armies
Quickplay Armies are pre-made army lists designed to be ready to play out of the box, without the need to count point costs or create your own lists. They are the perfect thing to dip your toes into new armies and see if you like them!
There’s a big box of new models out there and we couldn’t help but come up with some lists for it to get you started. These lists feature some sneaky Wolf Brothers taking on a beefy list of Orc Marauders, making for some rather interesting gameplay.
This week’s Quickplay Armies: Wolf Brothers vs Orc Marauders
Prime Brothers of the Wolf Detachment
1x Captain w/ Counter, Camo Cloak, Pistol & Energy Sword
The Wolf Brothers in this set are all about using Scout to control key regions and secure objectives early in the match. The list comes with a Captain with Camo Cloak that can hold his own, whilst the Infiltrators can use their Rending Carbines to take out heavily armored troops with ease. Don’t forget that everyone has Counter, so you can go toe-to-toe with the Orcs in melee.
The Orc Marauders on the other side focus on raw melee power combined with a hefty dose of Heavy Flamethrowers. The Warlord is a massive beast that can effortlessly take on entire squads, whilst the Utra Bosses can withstand sustained fire whilst they slowly move across the battlefield. Make sure to use your Boss Mob to strategically soak up some fire, and don’t be afraid to charge head-first into the enemy.
That’s it for today, make sure to rate all of those awesome game jam games, and we’ll be back next week with the results. :)
In today’s update we’re bringing you three brand new fantasy armies, some changes to the campaign rules, a couple of quickplay armies, as well as previews for what models we’re going to be releasing in May.
OPR Game Jam 2020
Before we begin we’d like to remind everyone that the first ever global game jam for miniature games is going to happen next weekend (8th of May to 10th of May)!
This will be a 48hr game making marathon, focused on creating one-page miniatures games. Anyone will be able to submit a game, and you can work alone or in teams.
When the jam is over everyone will be able to judge the games, and then we will highlight a few of our favourite games on the OPR website.
The theme will be revealed on the day of the jam, so make sure to sign up now and keep your eyes peeled so that you can get creating straight away!
New Fantasy Armies
If you love Age of Fantasy then you’re going to love the three new armies we’re releasing today: Halflings, Havoc Dwarves and Shadow Stalkers.
Halflings are tiny humanoids even smaller than dwarves, and one of the most ancient races found in Tyria. Even though they might not look like strong warriors, they make up for their small size in luck and courage, so don’t underestimate them.
This army was inspired by the super cool models released as part of the TTCombat KS, as well as miniatures from other manufacturers available online.
Havoc Dwarves are a faction of dwarves that have been corrupted by the havoc gods, and are now systematically razing one city after the next. Their bodies are covered in heavy armor sealed by the power of havoc, making them able to withstand even the mightiest of blows.
Shadow Stalkers are elusive and nightmarish horrors that warp into being seemingly out of nowhere and haunt small villages all across of Tyria. Nothing is known about them except that they usually strike at night, and that their armies are lead by mighty pumpkin-head kings.
This army was inspired by the spooky Mantic Nightstalkers models, which feature everything from pumpkin-head scarecrows to cthulu-like monsters.
Campaign Rules Updates
After taking part in the recent Grimdark Future community campaign we’ve gone ahead and updated the Campaign Rules based on some of the feedback we got.
Here the changes:
Tweaked underdog rules to be a little more balanced
Added optional rules for playing without permadeath
Units can’t get the same level up trait more than once anymore

This month we started releasing 2D print models, which were all put together with some army lists in mind, however we never shared those with you, which was dumb…
So today we’re going to share the quickplay armies that our 2D print sets were based around, and in the future whenever we release a new set we’ll release a new quickplay army to go with it as well.

That’s it for today, lots of cool stuff! Make sure to sign up for the OPR Game Jam and spread the word so we can get as many cool games as possible. :)
Recently my laptop died (RIP Fujitsu AH532, you served me well) so right now I’m trying to get a new one up and running ASAP.
All of the project files were backed up in the cloud so we didn’t lose anything, however this means that work on the project has slowed down for now.
In the meantime we thought it would be cool to bring you some Quickplay Armies for one of the cooler boxed sets released recently, and hopefully there will be more of these coming out this year! :)
Quickplay Armies
Quickplay Armies are pre-made army lists designed to be ready to play out of the box, without the need to count point costs or create your own lists. They are the perfect thing to dip your toes into new armies and see if you like them!
For far too long have the Sky-City Dwarves felt safe high in the clouds, but not for much longer, as the Disciples of Change have taken up arms and are flying straight at them with their deadly daemonic discs.
This week’s Quickplay Armies: Sky-City Dwarves vs Disciples of Change
Sky-City Dwarves
1x Sky-Gunboat
3x Balloon Wardens w/ Sky-Mines
3x Balloon Riggers
Disciples of Change
1x Birdman Shaman w/ Disc of Change & Wizard(2)
3x Birdmen Disc Riders w/ Lances & Bows of Fate
3x Birdmen Disc Riders w/ Lances & Bows of Fate
3x Manta Daemons
The Sky-City Dwarves in this set focus try to make up for their small numbers by boasting high toughness and solid defense. The list comes with a powerful Sky-Gunboat that can wreak havoc with a variety of ranged weapons, as well as Baloon Wardens that pose a big threat to melee units with their Sky-Mines.
The Disciples of Change on the other side focus on crazed birdmen that launch into battle with their razor sharp flying discs. The list comes with a Bidman Shaman that can cast powerful offensive spells, as well as a pack of Manta Daemons that devour their foes in melee whilst also being able to take quite a beating.
That’s it for today, we’re hopefully going to be back next week with more news on cool things to come, as well as a couple of patches for our One-Off games.
Today we’ve got two long awaited updates for you, delivering on an old promise from the Community Survey as well as updating an old favorite army to reach it’s full potential!
OPR Merch Survey
This has been a long time coming, but we’re please to announce that finally official OPR merch is going to be available in the near future. :D
We’ve decided to use Teespring as our main platform to produce various custom printed items, and we couldn’t be more excited at the idea of seeing our awesome illustrations on t-shirts, hoodies, posters, mugs or whatever else.
Because at the end of the day this merch is made for our fans, we’re going to put the power in your own hands by giving you a choice of what items and designs are going to be made available in our Teespring store.
We have 23 designs for each game, and are looking of featuring at least 4 designs per game at the beginning, though hopefully we’ll be able to put together more of them.
Right now we’re trying to have everything ready as soon as possible so that you can get some cool OPR merch delivered by Christmas, but no promises.
The Battle Sisters
With the release of some awesome new Battle Sisters models we thought it’s about time to give the Battle Sisters the spotlight that they deserve!
For those of you new to the Grimdark Future lore, here are the basics:
The Battle Sisters are a splinter faction of the Battle Brothers, which follow the lead of their own god-queen instead of the conservative god-king.
Once the god-king declared women to be unfit to fight the god-queen decided that she had enough and took off to start her own army of brave warriors, copying the technology of the Battle Brothers, even if not always perfectly.
Whilst this means that they lack a little bit in toughness it doesn’t make them any less fierce when it comes to war, and in some ways they greatly outshine the Battle Brothers.
Latest Update
To reflect this piece of the lore we’ve recently updated the Battle Sisters, adding in a ton of new units that are using similar technology to that of the Battle Brothers.
In the new Battle Sisters army books you will find rules for Battle Sisters in Destroyer Armor and on Combat Bikes, as well as a new Psychic with her own powerful spells.
We’ve also added in some more goodies with new weapons for most units, as well as one of their favorite toys: the Flamethrower Sniper Rifle. :D
With all of these rules improvements and custom modelling opportunities there’s never been a better time to start playing Battle Sisters.

Today we’re excited to bring you a new army for Age of Fantasy, as well as some new Quickplay Armies for you to give them a try!
Ossified Undead
The Ossified Undead are a bunch of crazed mutated skeletons that were constructed by cursed necromancers that are seeking revenge from their old vampire lord allies.
Basically at some point the vampire lords used to fight alongside these necromancers in order to conquer Tyria, but once the fighting was over they were too greedy to give up some of their new land.
This lead them to magically mutated the necromancers into skeletons, who didn’t take well to their new predicament (go figure).
In retaliation they used dark magic to put together new skeleton warriors from the remains of their fallen brethren, and are now seeking to destroy the vampiric undead.
Gameplay wise the army is extremely resiliant, with all units having the Regeneration rule, however it’s also very sluggish, with all units having the Slow rule.
Overall expect to have a much more reliable force than other undead armies, with some interesting heroes and monsters.
