We're happy to announce that base size recommendations are now available in Army Forge for all official Grimdark Future and Age of Fantasy factions. This has been one of the most requested features, especially among new players, and we hope that this makes it even easier to get started playing our games!
To enable this feature, turn on 'Base Sizes' in the menu in Army Forge and you'll begin to see a recommended base size for each of our models at the top right of the unit's stat cards, right bellow their points value. We have even added a recommended base size for any mount upgrades a hero might choose.
The base sizes listed will be for round bases in Grimdark Future, Grimdark Future: Firefight, Age of Fantasy, Age of Fantasy: Skirmish, and Age of Fantasy: Quest but will recommend an equivalent square base size for Age of Fantasy: Regiments.
We want to make it clear that these are just recommended base sizes, not base size requirements. Our games are designed with flexible base sizes in mind and the best base to use on a model is often the one it comes with. Ultimately base sizes do not matter a lot in our games as long as they are consistent across your army, and we have more general recommendations for base sizes in the Beginner's Guide for each of our games. These base size recommendations are simply here to help when you're in doubt or are new to the game.
