We're excited to announce that in February we will be releasing The Last Tear, an all new Narrative Campaign for Age of Fantasy: Skirmish, launching first on MyMiniFactory's Frontiers. The Ratmen city of Brec, perched at the edge of the Rift, has stood tall for centuries and withstood many attacks from Daemons of the Havoc Gods. No army has posed a serious threat to its soldiers in decades.
When a reviled War Daemon Champion appears at the border, Ratman Captain Kedseit Teibanec sees it as a chance to live up to his ancestor’s deeds. But will he be able to drive back the hordes of Daemons Ironpride and Cleaverfang? Was he really chosen by the God-Mother, as claimed by the Priest Hepalit? And what exactly is Ironpride planning to do with the last tear-shaped gem left in his ancient necklace?
The Last Tear is a narrative campaign for Age of Fantasy: Skirmish, pitting the brave Ratmen soldiers of Brec against the Rift Daemons of War. It allows you to play a series of battles telling the tale of old enemies reigniting their rivalry.
On the side of the Ratmen, the young and eager Captain Kedseit Teibanec, a talented warrior ready to risk it all for a chance at glory, and Priest Vacnip Hepalit, a devout worshipper of the God-Mother, convinced that his deity is showing him the way to a bright future.
The Daemons of War are led by Ironpride, Champion of War, a fierce fighter known for his cunning and ruthlessness, who has spent years working on a plan to take down Brec. He is seconded by Tri-Hound Champion Cleaverfang, a talking, three-headed monster who leads a horde of Hounds and values nothing more than a worthy challenger.
Each of these heroes has its own miniature, lovingly crafted by the concept artists and sculptors at One Page Rules. They are characterful and dynamic, and we expect many players to continue fielding them in games long after they have played and replayed the campaign.
The narrative of the campaign will take you on a deep dive into a specific place in the world of Age of Fantasy and tells a thrilling tale of pride, ambition, revenge, and hubris. Each battle will feel much more impactful knowing how much is at stake for the characters on your table.
The Last Tear features ten missions to play, specific scenarios with tailor-made objectives and special rules, designed to offer a balanced experience while immersing you in the ruthless struggle of our heroes. Ambushes, desperate escapes, sabotage attempts, and much more will unfold in this tale.
As you play this campaign, the story will become yours, specific rivalries emerging from the interplay of rules and narrative. Maybe a particular Rat Ogre will constantly thwart the Daemons’ incursions, or a lone War Daemon Warrior will accumulate such a headcount that you’ll have to start keeping score… This story will only be complete once you have fought the battles yourself!
