Get Ready for Saurians Unveiled
We're excited to announce our third Age of Fantasy Faction Book release for the Saurians! Faction books are expansive supplements that cover the lore and history of a specific faction in the OPR universe. This book is filled with vivid art and lore that helps bring to life the complexities of Saurian society, offering invaluable insight and enjoyment to everyone from the fledgling Gecko Priest discovering the Saurians’ mysteries for the first time to the wizened Frog-Mage who has been watching over this faction’s development from its earliest days.
The Faction Book will also release alongside four all-new hero models to add to your Saurian armies! It will be launching as a campaign on MyMiniFactory's Frontiers, where you can grab the new book, new heroes, and the STLs for our entire Saurian army at an incredible launch discount.
As a Faction Book, this release is entirely lore-focused. All the rules, including those for the new heroes, are available for free on Army Forge. This means that our books will not go out of date with the release of new balance updates. So, if you want to dive into the Saurians and explore our setting more for your Age of Fantasy, Skirmish, or any game you choose to play in the Age of Fantasy setting, then this book will have what you need!
About the Saurians Faction Book
The Saurians slept, hidden in ancient monuments, as the Elves and Dwarves took their first steps in Tyria, waiting silently for the world to heal from devastation so that they might arise in time to save it from another disaster. Instead, they were awoken by the Great Rift as it tore through the earth, even threatening to swallow some of their pyramids into the ground itself. They emerged scattered and in a world broken by powerful magic and torn apart by chaos and conflict; some feared that fate itself was forever broken.
Though most common on the continent of Qayatxa, Saurian pyramids may be found in every corner of the Plane with the book putting particular focus on those in Tyria near the Great Rift. The inhabitants divide themselves into Conclaves, ranging from the Mended Scales, who still maintain much of their ancient power and hope to use their influence to unite and restore the Frog-Mages to their former glory, to the reclusive Hidden Eyes, who dwell in thick fogs as they rely on stealth to protect what remains of their home. Many Conclaves boast their own coloration and symbols, vestiges of their people’s lost age.
While the Saurians’ destiny may be written in the stars, details about every part of their society, from their festivals to their food, are written out in this book. Learn what the fates have in store for the Saurians as they try to maintain their connection to their ancient past even as their pyramids and powerful Frog-Mages begin to falter in the Age of Fantasy. Though they face many challenges, Saurians always find a way.
For those who really want to dive into the culture, this Faction book also contains Saurian phrases with many interesting proverbs and pieces of wisdom. Whether that’s being more cautious with opponents after your Raptor Riders fail to hit hard on their charge or getting your next weather forecast from the cry of the Dactyls above. Of course, when you do make your charge, you threaten to deliver opponents to their fate in proper Saurian.
