New Daemon Campaigns for Age of Fantasy: Quest & Grimdark Future: Star Quest

“I cannot say it was a pleasure meeting you, but if our paths cross again, destroying you shall be an utter delight.” —Fungusfester, Testing the Limits
“Mage, I will not allow your kind to lock me, Chainrend, away once more. You were brave to return here and in honour of that, I shall not imprison you. Instead, I shall grant you the honourable warrior’s death that your ilk denied me.” —Chainrend, A Study in Treachery

With the release of the Daemon Onslaight, we are coming out with two new daemonic campaigns for both Grimdark Future: Star Quest and Age of Fantasy: Quest which feature not one but two major villains each, covering all four ranges of Daemons!

Tier 1 and above Patreon supporters will receive these two campaigns; Testing the Limits and Study in Treachery over the course of four months. Meanwhile, Tier 2 Patreon supporters will also have each of the four major villain models added to their MyMiniFactory Library!

These adventures can be played with any valid party. While the chapters will be published alongside the release of their Daemon models, it’s possible to play the scenarios with any units you have for your enemies! If you join the Patreon while the campaign is in early access, you will get the current month’s release and all previous chapters in the campaign. So if these stories catch your interest, it’s not too late to get your hands on the adventures and play!

About Testing the Limits

Ellisia Orvanas has always been one step ahead in the search for the Chrono Shard. With only one more Chrono Shard to uncover, Gempali III is your last chance to keep her from obtaining all three for herself but it is occupied by Plague and Change Daemons. Fungusfester and Eonflux have allied themselves in pursuit of a series of scientific experiments, with the Chrono Shards powering their work.

Fungusfester & Eonflux

Fungusfester is always eager to play host, inviting any he encounters to join up as researchers and test subjects. Eonflux is more reserved and to the point, but her fascination with the research being carried out is undoubtable; even if her methods of experimentation are somewhat dubious.

Their alliance makes for a dynamic duo that will be less than happy when they discover that you are after the very shard that they have been using to power their experiments.

About A Study in Treachery

Hidden beneath the Highford Academy is the final relic Malliur is hunting in order to conduct his transformation ritual - the very compass which Marione accidentally used to release him in the first place! To retrieve it, you must navigate through an academy overrun with Rift Daemons after Malliur has released two powerful Daemons kept captive by the Mages for experimentation.

Chainrend & Lithenote

Both the War and Lust Daemon have been shaped by their time in captivity. The Fury Champion of War, Chainrend, has come to appreciate the power of magic, even if he does not fully understand it. He is determined to harness it so that he will never be taken captive again.

Meanwhile, the Infernal Siren Lithenote has used her alluring music to take control for herself, turning the tables and manipulating those who once bound her beneath the academy.

There is no love lost between the former cellmates, but Malliur’s power have forced the two to reluctantly come together in order to fulfill his quest...

Gameplay

Unlike typical AoF: Quest and GF: Star Quest Campaigns, these stories will both feature a pair of villains who will appear in most missions; sometimes as solo enemies but also as a dangerous dual threat for players to deal with!

Whether facing down the dangers of Gempali III’s strange fungi, cultivated by Daemonic researches or dealing with the havoc unleashed onto a magical academy by a pair of captive Daemons set loose by a rogue Wizard, players will get the chance to face down multiple foes in never before seen environments.

Using Your Villains in Grimdark Future & Age of Fantasy

Remember that these new villains can be used for more than just your AoF: Quest and GF: Star Quest games, they're all fully statted as playable Narrative Heroes for our Battle and Skirmish games, too! Lets take a look at two of our heroes and see how they'll play when you include them in your Grimdark Future or Age of Fantasy armies.

Fungusfester is an excellent choice to lead a tenacious ranged unit, such as the new Plague Slingers, boosting their natural tankiness with Shrouding Spores providing a Screened Aura. He's also a terror for enemy light units with his Flask Shooter which is an Indirect Blast(3) attack with Bane!

On the other hand, Chainrend is a valuable, if risky, addition to any War Daemons unit, especially other Furies. His Reckless Piercing Aura will provide provide any unit he leads with AP(+1)... most of the time. But there is always the chance you roll a 1 and your enemy gets the bonus instead!

Onwards to Adventure

Whether you’re continuing your quest for the last Chronoshard against Plague and Change Daemons or trying to claim Malliur’s hidden compass in an academy overrun by Lust and War Daemons, these stories give plenty of opportunity for adventure!

Use the Grimdark Future: Star Quest or Age of Fantasy: Quest set to bring your own band of heroes to the table top, both games available for free on our website. You’ll make your way through unique missions and encounters, utilizing your strength, dexterity, and will. No matter which Quest you dive into, or both, your hero will play a central part in creating a lasting echo in the worlds they set foot in.

Happy Wargaming!
