
v3.5.1 Patch Notes - December 2nd, 2025
Hello everyone,
As promised when v3.5.0 was released a month ago, today we're releasing the v3.5.1 hotfix to patch up any issues with the rulebooks, as well as tweaking balance based on player feedback.
These balance tweaks are being made to hotfix some weird combos players have reported, simplify some of the new army-wide rules, as well tone back the lethality to be a little closer to pre-v3.5 levels. As things shift, points also get fixed and adjusted, so there's lots of little tweaks to the cost of units here.
Since the release of v3.5 was delayed, and the Q1 patch is coming very soon (sometime in January), you shouldn't expect a lot of changes from that one (although we do have one cool surprise for AoF fans coming, so keep your eyes peeled).

GAME UPDATES
Core Rules
- General fixes to grammar and typos
- AoFR - Casters can now cast in any direction
- AoFQ/GFSQ - Clarified that unconscious heroes are killed and suffer injuries
Beginner's Guide
- General fixes to grammar and typos
- Takedown example text was tweaked to make more sense
- AoFR - Clarified that units Advance/Rush/Charge moves forward by default
- AoFR - Clarified the units can't move sideways/backwards when using Rush/Charge
- AoFR - Clarified that moving/placing units doesn't allow a pivot unless explicitly stated
Advanced Rules
- General fixes to grammar and typos
- Fixed incorrect values on Advanced Actions
- Fixed Mission Cards with incorrect numbers

ARMY-FORGE UPDATES
General
- Fixed some base size errors
- Removed over 9" requirements from defensive army-wide rules to be more in line with offensive army-wide rules and require less range checking
- Some defensive army-wide rules boosts were changed to be stronger but more conditional
- Some offensive army-wide rules boosts were changed to be more conditional
- Clarified that rules that happen "when this model attacks in melee" happen when it's the model's turn to attack
- Rules that happen after shooting/melee now only apply once per round
- Tweaked cost of offensive rules with over 9" shooting requirement
- Tweaked cost of automatic wounds and similar rules
- Tweaked cost of limited/once-per-game rules
- Tweaked cost of Aircraft, as well as cost of Transport on Aircraft
- Tweaked cost of Versatile rules, and Versatile Defense now applies when deployed and until the next activation
- Tweaked cost of rules with effects for marking units in line of sight, and moving/attacking after shooting/melee
- Tweaked cost of Mind Control and Dangerous Terrain Debuff
- Tweaked cost of Tough scaling across the board
- Re-Deployment now happens before Scout, and its price was tweaked
- GFF/AoFS - Removed hero upgrades that give Re-Position Artillery
- GFF/AoFS - Units with Delayed Action now get Martial Prowess instead
- GFSQ/AoFQ - Fixed incorrect cost of Str/Dex/Wil/Pow/Skills

Battle Brothers
- Fixed Elite Pathfinder upgrades list requiring a weird sequence to take Shotgun / Sniper Rifle
- Wolf Brothers Drop Pods don't have Wolfborn anymore
DAO Union
- Master Armorer now gives Counter-Attack
Goblin Reclaimers
- Fixed Big Bug not having Fear and Super Tank having the wrong amount of Impact
Havoc Brothers
- Fixed unit Sergeants not being able to take Plague Swords anymore
- Fixed Plague Chosen not being able to take Dual Plague CCWs anymore
